Everything you need to know to attend and survive The Dark Karnival events.

What is it?

The Dark Karnival is a 2-day 2-night overnight (camping) event. It is classified as a DARK event. This type of event has central notes in the dark themed side of things. Morbid, scary, unique, and beautiful are the tones of the DARK! Behold the dark side of reality as madness warps the realm and releases unknown horrors to scar the mind and entrance the senses! We encourage one to develop their own unique “character” or “look” to bring to the Karnival. All flavors of style are welcome. Dystopia, Fantasy, Horror, Cyber, Steam, and general madness are all welcome in our hallowed halls! Just make it DARK!!

When and Where Is It?

• Arrival is 9 AM – 7 PM central on Friday the 13th of September
  & Saturday the 14th of September 10 AM – 6 PM central
• Leave Sunday by Noon
• Gadsden, AL @ The Forged Valley Authority Event Grounds
• It is located at 5150 Jenkins Rd Gadsden Alabama 35905
• GATE CLOSE @ 7PM FRIDAY & 6PM SATURDAY

What Do I Need To Bring?

• Tent Camping Stuff (D.Y.O.R.)
• Food & Snacks (there will be food vendors)
• Costumes / Characters / Personas (have fun, be dark)
• Extra clothes/wash gear (Water Balloon WAR)
• Showers on site.
• Money for vendors (cash preferred). Generally bad signal at site
• Stuff to Trade (vendors like shinnies)
• State Issued ID (prove your age)
• Printout of Ticket (Email confirmation)
• Printout of Signed Waiver
• Change of Clothes for the Water Balloon War (Voluntary)

What Do I Need To NOT Bring?

• No Fireworks
• No Pets
• No Firearms
• No Anything Explode-y
• Bad Attitude
• Always Follow Local State Laws!!!

How Do I Buy Tickets/Wristbands?

• Easy peasy! Just click here to visit our tickets page and purchase via Debit/Credit card, PayPal, or Venmo! Once you do so you will receive an email confirmation. Print off or screen shot your email confirmation and bring an signed printout of the waiver.

RULEZ

• Everyone is here to have FUN
  – No Religion
  – No Politics
  – No HATE
• Reliability of SELF
  – Be self sufficient
  – Pack in and pack out everything
  – Bring food and water (there will be food vendors)
  – Bring a cup, bowl, and spoon/fork
  – bring shelter (tent)
  – Be prepared for BAD weather
  – Be prepared for GOOD weather
  – Rain or shine event – NO REFUNDS

  – You the participant is here to have fun
  – enjoy the games, contests, & crafts
  – go wild and make some memories
• CONSENT
  – ALWAYS ASK PERMISSION
  – NO MEANS NO
  – ASK permission to take a photo
• No EXIT after GATE CLOSE
  – Gate is open Friday 13th 9 AM – 7 PM
  & Saturday the 14th 11 AM to 4 PM
• Leave No Trace
  – Clean up after yourself
  – We ain’t your maid
  – Bring paper materials/ No Styrofoam or glass if possible
• FIRE
  – Above ground fire pits allowed
  – Be responsible
  – Be safe
  – Any other concerns need to be addressed and approved by GLADIATOR WARZ prior to the event itself
  -Fallen firewood is fair game. No choppin shit!
• NO STEALING
  – Duh
  – Don’t do it
  – You will be ejected permanently
  – It isn’t worth it
  – See if you can work or trade instead maybe?
  – Security & then Cops will be called. No exceptions.
• THE BAZAAR
  – Vendors will have <CASH> &/or <TRADE> signs posted
  – respect the wishes of the vendor by following the posted guidelines for trade
  – Vendors keep their own hours of operations
  – GLADIATOR WARZ is not responsible for the actions of a vendor or participant
  – Upon discovery of foul play GLADIATOR WARZ reserves the right to follow the EJECTION tenant set forth under the Rulez. This would apply to any party found to be at fault.
• EJECTION
  GLADIATOR WARZ reserves the right to:
  – eject any individual or group that violates the prior set forth RULEZ
  – eject any individual or group that otherwise negatively impacts the event itself.
  – Ejection from the current event excludes individuals from any and all future events or shows hosted by GLADIATOR WARZ
  – this includes forfeiture of any monetary value of (bands/passes/tickets) purchased.
